What this website collects, and why.

Who this covers

This policy explains what information daneverettbooks.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website only.

Information you give us

If you use a form on this site, you choose what to send — typically your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message. It is used to reply to you, or, where you have asked to hear from us, to send occasional updates. It is not sold.

Summary

We collect very little. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site. The only third-party analytics tool we use is Google Analytics, configured so that it cannot be used for advertising. If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address goes to Substack, which runs the newsletter and has its own privacy policy.

Information you give us

Contact form. When you use the contact form we collect the name, email address and message you enter, along with the time of submission. We use this only to read and reply to your message. Submissions are delivered to us by our hosting providers, which processes them on our behalf and does not use them for its own purposes.

Newsletter signup. The subscription form on this site sends your email address directly to Substack, Inc., which operates the newsletter. Substack is an independent data controller for subscriber information and its handling of your address is governed by the Substack Privacy Policy. Substack may set cookies in your browser under its own domain when your subscription is submitted. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by managing your subscription in your Substack account.

We do not ask for, and ask that you do not send us, sensitive personal information.
